Aside from Tyler’s outstanding academic performance, he has shown great leadership and compassion in his community. Overall, he has volunteered 280 hours of his time to giving back to those around him. One of Tyler’s most rewarding services was organizing a wiffleball fundraiser in support of a deceased classmate and his family. He has also given back through FoodLink, Rotary Club, and NorthCoast Basketball Admissions. Tyler is very active in his school where he serves as President of the Math League Team, Treasurer of the World Language Honor Society, and Captain of the Varsity Basketball Team. His unbreakable work ethic and strong leadership skills are just a few things that make Tyler a robust member in his community.

One interesting fact about Tyler: “I enjoy sugaring (making maple syrup) with my grandfather and his community in Hailesboro, NY.”
Attending school in fall 2021: “I’m attending NC State University and plan to study Computer Engineering.”
How do you plan to use your scholarship funds? “I plan on putting this scholarship towards the cost of a potential study abroad experience.”
What parts of high school are you most proud of? “I am most proud of my continuous academic and athletic success, all while giving back to my community. I have been competing at a high level on varsity basketball and lacrosse since my sophomore year, achieving high honor roll with distinction and leading multiple service projects in my community in support of great charities like Webster Rotary, Shore Foundation, and Webster youth basketball camps.”
What Tyler is most looking forward to in his college career: “I am looking forward to continuing my education, while further developing my leadership skills and building new friendships. I am most excited to continue my involvement in academic and athletic organizations on campus, such as an engineering competition team, the club basketball team, and the Engineers Without Borders organization so I can implement my knowledge to solve real-world problems.”
