Mckayla StreberVictor Senior High School
Mckayla’s effort to helping her community is truly remarkable. She has volunteered her time to multiple organizations and events in her district including the Victor Senior High School, Cobblestone Arts Center, and Victor Primary Studio day. Mckayla is a passionate artist who serves as her high school’s Art Club President. Within this role she has designed the Homecoming t-shirts, senior wall mural, theatre props, and more for her high school! Mckayla uses her art as a way to build relationships amongst her community members and bring awareness to issues of public importance. In 2020, Mckayla was awarded the Women of Excellence Award for her leadership and allegiance to her community.

One interesting fact about Mckayla: “I love to draw, and more specifically I’m a portrait artist.”
Attending school in fall 2021: “I plan on going to Rochester Institute of Technology this fall, and will be majoring in animation.”
How do you plan to use your scholarship funds? “I plan on paying for books, tuition, etc. by having multiple jobs and through earned scholarships.”
What parts of high school are you most proud of? “I’m most prideful in my volunteer work that I did for my high school, such as designing a multitude of things (like posters, murals, play props, and t-shirts). I also wrote about some of these experiences in my application! Additionally, I’m really proud of artwork I did for local shops, such as Lovely Bride in Victor and the Treasure Trove in Canandaigua.”
What Mckayla is most looking forward to in her college career: “I’m extremely excited to broaden my art skills so that I can continue to do the work I love for people I love and my community.”
