Zaynab KahnPittsford Mendon High School
Zaynab is an outstanding student, maintaining a 94% GPA throughout high school. Not only is she a great student, but a pillar in her community as well. Zaynab frequently volunteers her time, including helping at the Pittsford Food Cupboard since 2019 and at the Rochester Teen Court since 2020. Her impact inside of school is more than admirable as well. Zaynab participates in Model U.N, is the president for WriteRochester and is a member of the Superintendent Student Advisory Council. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Business Honor Society and won Monroe County Youth Citizen of the Year Award. Zaynab has clearly shown she will stop at nothing to help her community thrive and prosper.

How do you plan to use your scholarship funds?
I'm going to use it to help purchase my textbooks and other college expenses.
What parts of high school are you most proud of?
I really enjoyed my time being an avid member of Pittsford Mendon's Model UN club, as both a delegate and a chair. I was able to engage in some intense debates, learn about foreign affairs, and discovered my interest in political science/international relations which is what I intend on studying next year!
What are you looking forward to most in your college career?
I look forward to meeting new people from all over the world. University of Rochester has a huge international student population, so it'll be a great opportunity for me to hear new perspectives and gain a new sense of cultural awareness.
