Emma GuthrieRuben A. Cirillo High School
Emma has many passions, one of those being helping those around her. In her application, Emma shared numerous examples demonstrating how she offers support to her peers at the snap of a finger. Since 2016, she volunteers a great deal of time with the Young Women Organization. Emma also enjoys exploring her passion for music. In high school, she enrolled at the University of Rochester, Eastman Community Music School hoping to graduate with a pre-collegiate diploma in flute. She is heavily involved with her school’s music program and strives daily to become a better musician.

I really love playing flute! I study it at the Eastman Community Music School.
Where will you be attending college?
I will be attending a 4+4 program with Elmira College and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
How do you plan to use your scholarship funds?
I will be using my scholarship money to purchase a computer for my schoolwork
What parts of high school are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my academic achievements and relationships I have gained with my teachers and mentors.
What are you looking forward to most in your college career?
I am most excited to continue gaining relationships with my professors and doing research with them.
