ESL Donates $75,000 to Feedmore WNY Emergency Response Fund

The donation comes in the wake of the tragic mass shooting in Buffalo, NY on May 14, 2022, to directly support those impacted in the community.

Rochester, N.Y. — ESL Federal Credit Union announces it has donated $75,000 to Feedmore WNY Emergency Response Fund in the wake of the tragic mass shooting in Buffalo, NY on May 14, 2022.

“In the midst of this horrific tragedy, we want to do our part in supporting our neighbors in Buffalo, specifically those on the city’s eastside who were directly impacted,” said Ajamu Kitwana, Vice President/Director, Community Impact, ESL Federal Credit Union. “Their pain is felt by all of us throughout our region and has motivated us to join in with many others who have donated their time, funds and resources to the people of Buffalo’s eastside community.”

On May 16, FeedMore WNY announced a partnership with Resource Council of WNY to distribute food donations to community members affected by the mass shooting at Tops Friendly Markets on Jefferson Avenue.

Through its food bank distribution center and partner hunger-relief agencies, as well as its home-delivered meal program and other targeted feeding programs, FeedMore WNY alleviates hunger and assists community members of all ages throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties.
