ESL ranks in the top 1% of more than 7,000 federally insured credit unions in the U.S.

Did you know?

On January 17, 2020, ESL distributed the largest Owners’ Dividend in its history—$20 million. With this Owners’ Dividend distribution, ESL will have shared more than $150 million with members over the past 24 years.

ESL Investment Services, LLC, acquires Cooper/Haims Advisors

...providing investment planning, retirement planning, tax planning, and additional wealth management services to the community.

ESL Trust Services, LLC, is launched

...providing estate planning and trust administration services to the Greater Rochester wealth management community.

Our VolunCare Program is established

...giving every employee eight hours every year to volunteer during work hours. In 2019 alone, more than 500 ESL employees volunteered 3,000+ hours in the community across more than 100 organizations.

ESL is named a Great Place to Work® for the first time.

ESL has been named to this list of America’s Best Medium Workplaces nine times. Since then, we’ve also been named to lists for Millennials, Women, and Finance/Insurance.

We move to our new headquarters on Chestnut Street

...bringing 300+ employees to downtown Rochester.

Business Banking is launched

...with savings, credit, and loan offerings for small and commercial businesses in Greater Rochester. Today, ESL Business Banking serves more than 9,100 local businesses.

ESL Investment Services, Inc.

...subsidiary of ESL Federal Credit Union, opens for business to provide members with retirement and wealth management products and services. (ESL Investment Service Inc. became ESL Investment Services, LLC, in 2001.)

... after Eastman Savings & Loan Association rewrites its charter under federal credit union guidelines, becoming insured by the National Credit Union Administration.

Our first Owners' Dividend payout is made.

The first community branch opens in Irondequoit.

Our first stand-alone ATMs are installed throughout Kodak facilities

...providing new services and conveniences. A decade later, the network grows to 44+ locations around Greater Rochester.

ES&L Association opens its first branch in the Kodak Office on State Street.

...a monthly publication for Kodak employees.

Did you know?

In 1920, George Eastman founded Eastman Savings & Loan Association. One of his prime objectives was “to encourage and aid as many as possible of our employees in purchasing and owning a home.”

As a visionary business leader who recognized the importance of helping employees manage their finances, he knew that if he could help foster thrift and home ownership, it would help his employees become rooted in our community.

Charter for Eastman Savings & Loan Association is drafted and signed

...establishing ES&L as a savings and mortgage vehicle for Eastman Kodak employees and their immediate families.
