Do I have to be an ESL Member to use the ESL Internet Banking Service?

Yes, you must be a member of ESL Federal Credit Union in order to use the Internet Banking Service. (If you are eligible to become a member you may apply for membership online.)

Is it safe?

Absolutely! The ESL Internet Banking system uses the most current encryption methods available.

First Time Users - How do I access my accounts?

It's simple. All you need is your member number and a TEL-E$L/Internet Banking PIN number. If you do not have a PIN number, you may request one.

Once you have your PIN, go to ESL's home page enter your member number and TEL-E$L PIN on the left side. You will be prompted to change your PIN to a new Internet Banking password the first time you log in. Your new password will be case sensitive and allows you to choose alpha and numeric characters. Your password can be as few as 6 and a maximum of 16 characters. See our security page for more information on password security.

Customizing your Internet Banking Service

There are several features which are customizable in Internet Banking. All of them can be changed using the "Preferences" link on the top right corner of the Internet Banking screen. For example, you can:

  • Change your password
  • Change your Time out (a security measure that automatically log you out of Internet Banking if you are not using it)
  • Nickname your accounts to make them easier to recognize
  • Change your History Date Range (the amount of history you see when opening your accounts).
  • Sign up for Online Statements

Is there a specific browser that I must use?

ESL recommends the use of Firefox 1.0+ or Internet Explorer 6.0+. For more information and a complete list of supported browsers, see our Internet Banking Supported Browsers page.

Downloading information to Financial Software

Within the Account Access section there is an option to download your transactions into Quicken® or Microsoft Money®.

What is Personal Financial Management software?

A Personal Financial Manager (PFM) is software that is used to keep track of personal finances, such as Quicken and Microsoft Money. These products feature the ability to keep a check register, reconcile statements, track spending and a host of other features.

ESL Internet Banking is designed to work with Quicken 1999 and newer, and all versions of Microsoft Money that can import OFX downloads.

Is it still necessary to log into Internet Banking and do an export or can I do a direct download from inside Quicken?

In order to perform direct downloads, the financial institution must be a registered Quicken bank. ESL is not a Quicken bank, so you must first log into Internet Banking and export the transactions into Quicken. You cannot do a direct export from inside Quicken.
